Booked a room with amazing views over the town and landscape, the location was marvelous and perfect for me, very close to the main sights. Rewritten: I booked a room with stunning views of the town and the landscape, and the location was excellent, really close to all the main attractions.

We went for a short trip with our large dog. As we normally prefer 4 or 5 star hotels we were unsure what to expect. We were delighted by what we found. The ho0tel is largte and truly palatial. We were given not a room but an apartment, with living room, kitchen with all cooking facilities supplied. This apartment was adjacent to the courtyard and allowed easy access to an adjoining field where we could take our dog for his early morning walk - it was all so private and secluded that we could walk in our nightclothes!!!Breakfast was served in a delightful room overlooking the square. The fare provided was fresh and plentiful.Bar prices were unbelievably low. The only thing lacking is a restaurant within the hotel itself, although there are restaurants a short walk from the hotel. We hope to return for a longer stay in the autumn. A truly delightful hotel, unbeatable value for money.
Only one thing, as I said above: the hotel has no restaurant.

Its location was excellent, near Monsaraz as well as the orange garden and the beautiful Building. Spent a nice evening at Pastelaria a Maria, located within walking distance of the venue. The pool was very clean and I had cold drinks in the tapas bar.

What I liked was that even though the location is within the city, the hotel offered me the privacy and serenity he sought.

The building was very old, plenty of space in the room, with old but comfortable furniture. It was very original and unspoiled.
The beds were like sleeping on a wooden plank. There was no information about the swimming pool. No view from the room.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the location of the hotel is excellent and the buildig itself takes uns to the 17th century. Air condition and a big bed- and bathroom were very useful.
